YORK — A Newport News man was arrested Thursday after being accused of inappropriately touching three minors and a woman in the wave pool at Water Country USA earlier this week, authorities said.
Ziaulhaq Faqiri, 29, was charged with three misdemeanor counts of sexual battery and one felony count of aggravated sexual battery, according to a news release from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.
According to the release, the sheriff’s office received a complaint at about 3:45 p.m. Monday that a man had inappropriately touched several people in the wave pool.
After working with security staff at Water Country, police identified Faqiri as the suspect, the release said. He was being held Friday in the Newport News City Jail.
