Hickory 6, #1 Grassfield 4

Brayden Bachman hit a two-run walk-off homer in the seventh inning as the Hawks, just outside the top 15, won a Chesapeake rivalry game. Jake Chadwell also homered for Hickory, which never trailed, and Wyatt Simmons was the winning pitcher.

#3 Cox 11, Tallwood 1

Conner Worth had three hits and Austin Irby added a home run and a double for the Falcons. Jake Colucci was the winning pitcher.

#5 Western Branch 7, Nansemond River 0

Left-hander Gavin Biernot pitched a four-hit, seven-inning shutout, striking out four and walking two. Logan Adams was 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI.

#6 First Colonial 13, Ocean Lakes 0

Brady Wilson (3-0) threw a complete game and struck out six. Jaethan Inman homered, doubled and scored three runs for FC, which broke open a scoreless game with a 10-run third.

#7 Great Bridge 9, Oscar Smith 4

Brody Comparto struck out eight in six innings, allowing only one hit. Andrew Griffin and Adam Bartley had three hits each.

#9 Gloucester 17, Heritage 0

Dylan Deyoung, Hayden Simmons, Brayden Enoch, Trevor Richardson and Austin Shackelford had multiple hits for the Dukes.

#11 Landstown 8, Salem 3

Trey Campos and Aidan Ross combined to pitch a one-hitter. Cam Tellefsen was 2 for 3 with a home run. Charlie Hogan and Aidan Ross each had multiple RBIs.

#12 Menchville 9, Phoebus 1

James Blotter was 2 for 4 with a double, a run and two RBIs; Ethan Ellis doubled, drove in two runs and scored one; and Easton Young was 3 for 4 and scored twice. Zach Davis (8-0) gained the victory.

Princess Anne 5, #15 Kellam 0

Aidan McKeating was 3 for 3 with three RBIs for the Cavaliers. Sam Purcell threw a shutout. Brae Williams and Xavier Doom had multiple hits.

Peninsula District

Kecoughtan 3, Woodside 2

Freshman Aiden Bain hit a walk-off RBI single for the Warriors. Brayden Ellis was the winning pitcher, and Kason Boone went 2 for 3.

Southeastern District

Deep Creek 6, Indian River 2

Jose Ruiz and Kam Myers each had two hits and two RBIs. Jack Pszczola, Brady Drew (1-1) and Charles Tobler also had an RBI. The Braves, who scored twice in the first inning, finished with two hits.

Lakeland 15, King’s Fork 4

The Cavaliers had 11 hits.

Non-district

Varina 19, Norcom 2

Noah DeVaughn hit a grand slam for the Blue Devils.

Abby Adamek pitched a no-hitter, striking out nine, while going 3 for 4 with two singles and a double. Hannah Lebert, who led off the game with a home run, Karley Boone, Grace Andes, Chloe Jackson and Riley McMichael had two hits each.

#6 Granby 16, Maury 1

Shaka Holmes (8-2) was the winning pitcher for the Comets, and Taylor Langston and Cam Hamilton hit home runs.

#7 Western Branch 8, Nansemond River 1

Marissa Bernheimer hit a two-run home run for the host Bruins. Kaileigh Taylor and Lilly Creef each had two RBIs. Kassidy Oneail pitched a four-hitter and struck out eight.

#8 Gloucester 22, Heritage 0

Alivia Bruce (7-0) struck out 12 in five innings and pitched a no-hitter for the Peninsula District-leading Dukes (18-0). She was 2 for 2 with two RBIs. Tessa Carteret was 4 for 4 with a double, triple and five RBIs. Sam Carlton was 3 for 4, Autumn Cookson was 2 for 2, Hannah Horsley was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, Cameron Palas doubled twice and drove in four runs, and Grace Sinko-VanLiew doubled twice.

#9 Ocean Lakes 2, #12 First Colonial 1

Kaitlyn Wilms struck out 11 for the Dolphins’ 13th win of the season. She, Lu Cirillo, Addison Munson and Devynn Sawyer had hits.

#10 Deep Creek 14, Indian River 0

Larah Fray had two hits and pitched four innings of one-hit relief for the visiting Hornets, and Harley Blevins also had two hits. Sydney Seals (13-4-1) was the winning pitcher.

#13 Kecoughtan 19, Woodside 0

Junior Skyler Ackerman struck out eight, giving her 300 for her career, and gave up one hit. Alexis Bartlett was 3 for 4, falling just a home run short of the cycle, and drove in three runs.

Beach District

Salem 2, Landstown 1

Pitcher Erin Sousa earned a complete-game victory, striking out four and walking none. Grace Snead went 2 for 3 with two triples. Sophia O’Connor and Lily Check added a hit and RBI each.

Tallwood 5, Cox 4

The Lions won with a walk-off RBI triple by Avery Hudson. Olivia Grant and Rebecca Rapier had multiple hits for Tallwood, and Skyla Trace pitched a complete game with four strikeouts.

Peninsula District

Menchville 14, Phoebus 0

Taylor Twitchell (11-5) pitched a five-inning one-hitter and Emma Ingalls homered for the Monarchs (13-5). Kinsey Knapp and Brielle Creque added two hits apiece.

Southeastern District

Great Bridge 15, Oscar Smith 1

LB Scott and Bailey Bliven each had four RBIs for the Wildcats in a five-inning game.

Private schools

Isle of Wight Academy 8, Christchurch 0

Reese Upton was 4 for 4 for the Chargers on the Middle Peninsula, scoring two runs and driving in three. Nora Pye had an “immaculate inning,” striking out all three batters on nine total pitches. IWA outhit the Seahorses 12-5.

Dylan Ausley scored a hat trick for the Hornets. Jacob Goldup and Brenton Clowser had an assist each. Kip Harris netted both goals for the Braves.

Preston Ramsey scored, assisted by Brady Wieck.

Tylor Walker and Lexi King scored twice each for the Rams. Ceci Riggs, Kira Moore, Shea Mansisidor and Aaliyah White provided a goal apiece.

#4 Western Branch 2, #14 Nansemond River 1

Keyah Prophete and Jayda Sutton each scored for the Bruins (12-2) in Suffolk.

#12 Grassfield 1, #6 Hickory 0

Bella Franco scored off of an assist from Ally Quiroz in the 21st minute for the Grizzlies. Sara Koch had four saves for the shutout.

#8 Granby 4, Bethel 0

Makayla Kyle scored two goals as the Comets shut out the Bruins. Ariana Wagner and Zoe LaBeff also scored, and Dylan Belcher had an assist.

#9 Jamestown 8, Grafton 0

Maddie Leach scored three goals and Parker Long two for the Eagles.

Bay Rivers District

Poquoson 1, New Kent 1

The Islanders’ Quinn Sparkman scored with 15 seconds left in regulation, forcing a draw.

Southeastern District

Deep Creek 8, Indian River 0

Emma Swarm had a hat trick and an assist for the Hornets. Malia Kincaid had two goals and an assist, and Grace Buck,
Charlotte Vaughan and Eva Morillo scored a goal apiece. Jayde Hauck and Sabella Cain had an assist each.

TCIS final

Norfolk Academy 11, Catholic 10

G-NA, Shinofield 4, Crocker 3, Payne, H. Chesson, Foley, Acra; Catholic, Kimener 4, Chandler 2, Ostrowski 2, Hargrave, Reader.

The Bulldogs won a thriller for the TCIS Tournament championship as Luke Shinofield scored the tie-breaking goal with 12.2 seconds remaining.

Shinofield had four goals and Ashton Crocker three for Norfolk Academy. Dax Kimener led the Crusaders with four goals.

In a fascinating twist, the Bulldogs and Crusaders will meet again just two days later in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division I tourney’s first round, with Catholic seeded 11th and Norfolk Academy sixth in the field of 12. They’ll face off at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Bulldogs’ stadium, and the winner will advance to a quarterfinal Tuesday in Charlottesville against third-seeded St. Anne’s-Belfield.

In the eight-team Division II field, top-seeded Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and fourth-seeded Norfolk Collegiate gained first-round home games Tuesday against Northern Virginia foes.

The Saints will face No. 8 Trinity Christian of Fairfax, and the Oaks will play host to No. 5 Trinity at Meadow View, which is located in Falls Church. The winners of those games will square off Friday in a semifinal.

The Lions finished the regular season 7-9, falling to a team that was the state Class 2 runner-up the past two years.

The Tigers beat the Islanders in a neighborhood rivalry.

Southeastern District

Deep Creek 9, Indian River 0

The Hornets shut out the Braves.

Great Bridge 7, Oscar Smith 1

No. 2 Owen Hill, No. 5 Damien Gillette and No. 6 Andrew Craven were among the victors for the Wildcats (9-4, 6-3 Southeastern District). The tandems of Nathaniel Taylor/Ethan Clarkson and Nate Becker/Abdrhman Elbakary also prevailed.

Hickory 8, Grassfield 0

William Katchmark won a third-set match tiebreak 10-8 at No. 1.

The Wildcats continued their hold on the Southeastern District race.

Lakeland 6, King’s Fork 3

The Cavaliers won four singles matches in the intra-Suffolk clash, including two that went to third-set match tiebreakers. King’s Fork was coming off a 4-2 suspended-match triumph over Oscar Smith and a 7-2 triumph against Indian River earlier in the week.

Nansemond River 6, Western Branch 3

The Warriors outplayed the Bruins.
