Damian D. Lyle OBITUARY

Damian D. Lyle OBITUARY

On Friday, August 30th, 2024, at age 59, Damian Dunn Lyle unexpectedly left all his loved ones and friends forever to what lies after this life. He was born in Tripoli, Lebanon and was the first grandchild of Jean Raad and his wife Evelyne Chidiac Raad. He spent his formative years living in Kano Nigeria, Bermuda, Bahamas, Canary Islands, Quito Ecuador, England, and finally the United States. He lived in District of Columbia, St Mary’s County Maryland, and ended up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was bilingual, speaking English and Spanish fluently. He began working in construction at 18 and took considerable pride in his accomplishments and creations. He continued in construction in the Tidewater area for over forty years, eventually starting his own businesses: Superior Structures and Woodhurst Construction. He is predeceased by his wife Kris Dines Lyle, the love of his life, whom he was married and devoted to for 37 years. He was strong, loving, generous, and compassionate. He often had a smile on his face and enjoyed making those around him laugh. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a colleague, friend, neighbor, or stranger in need. A favorite pastime was caring for his palm trees and working in the yard while his wife Kris tended to her vegetables and tomato plants. Together, they created their own little tropical paradise complete with a pool and gardens filled with joyful birds singing their songs. Their spirit lives on. He was preceded in death by mother Nelly Raad Lyle, father John C. Lyle, aunt Grace Coventry, uncle Joe Raad, mother-in-law Madeline Dines and mother-in law Carol Dines. He is survived by his sister Tania Porter and her husband Keith, niece Lexie Pearl, niece Jenna Sharpe and her husband John and their daughters Veronica and Eva, nephew Konnor Porter and his wife Karina and their son Elias, aunts Leyla Stewart, Patricia Shour, Carina Chagoury, and Dory Raad and their families, uncle Ted Coventry and his family, and uncle Jean-Paul Raad, father-in-law David Dines (who he always said was like a father to him), and sister-in-law Diana Gordon and her husband Paul. Damian really loved reading the newspaper, especially the obituaries. We like to think, from wherever he is, he will smile at this one. He will be sorely missed. His passing leaves a large void in countless lives. His ashes will be laid to rest beside his wife’s ashes at Princess Anne Memorial Park.
